"If money were the only criterion by which a child's welfare can be gauged, then a baby bought for as much as RM40,000 on the black market would seem set for life. For money-rich but child-poor couples, it is a small price to pay to introduce a small life into their home. The cot is gilded, the blanket monogrammed, the college fund filled to the brim. And that's wanting is a bun in the oven. And where there is a baby-for-sale racket, money can indeed buy happiness. And after all, why not?" (NST, March 3, 2013)
How do you view above statements?
This is true that money is really important especially in nowadays situation which is in the phase of world globalization as our nation goal to be advance and develop as other developed country. Money is really important in someone's life in order to fulfill their own basic needs and satisfactions. It is true that by having enough money, it can make people happy. Using money, people can afford everything in terms of their need, wants, demands, health and also their own welfare. But, money is not the only medium that make someone's life better and not all things in this world can be buy by money.
In this era, not all married couples are being fortune to have their own child or baby even their life are completely perfect. But sometime, there still have married couple who do not want to have a child in order to survive in nowadays hectic situation and everyone need to put their effort only to their works. Thus, this is related to the issue of baby-for-sale racket which is the married couple who did not have enough money to afford their child tend to sale the baby to those who are interested and mostly for whom are rich. In a certain way, those particular married couple sale the baby illegally in such in the black market in order to make both sides easier without need to face many rules and procedures.
Basically, the baby that been offered are come from the desperate married couple that do not have financial stability and really need money for their own virtue and the ease of their journey of life. The adopted parents who take care the baby wholeheartedly will giving all their love and really care for the baby's life until the child growing up perfectly.
Baby-for-sale is not wrong if it been done legally and by following the judiciary policies. But it will be wrong if baby been sold in the black market and keep it secret from the responsible authorities that are responsible enough in this case. At the same time, it might be happen when the biological parents seek and claim their right toward the child in order to get them back if the proper procedure not be implemented before took the child.
Apparently is it true that money can guarantee the better life but money is not everything. Money is a need and everyone must have. Perhaps, money can make people happy in today's life which is everything need enough money for the own goodness. But, those who are married do not mortgage their child's happiness for the parent's sake of life.

Before I begin myself as a semester 4 student, I have heard a few comments from the seniors about this subject. Most of them said that Critical Literacy is a very tough subject. Everyone need to put their effort through this subject and are not encourage to do the assignments last minutes.
But then, in my point of view, I feel that Critical Literacy is a good subject that should be learn especially for the Decomers. It trigger student to be creative and to use the both side of their brain. Is it true that Critical Literacy is a tough subject. I need to focus more through the lesson and it practiced myself to be a good reader. I need to read lot of sources in order to accomplish my assignments. It quite fun and challenging too.
The reason I said fun is because I can enrich and increase my knowledge also give me new experiences through reading session. It help me to know about people's different perspective regarding to the same issues. It help me to develop my thinking skills and also can enrich my vocabulary.
